Rebuild your hair with Olaplex
From perming and straightening to balayage and ombre, there are countless ways you can refresh your hair’s style, colour and texture. However, the downside to having so many options to play with is the inevitable damage that comes with them. Heat treatments, overstyling, colouring and bleaching all unfortunately damage your hair’s bonds, weakening the strands and leaving it feeling dull and lifeless.
This doesn’t mean you have to stop treating your hair, though. Thankfully, with plenty of exciting advances in hair care technology and treatments, there are ways to replenish and rebuild damaged hair. One of the most effective, long-lasting and popular options is Olaplex.
What is Olaplex?
Olaplex is a rebuilding treatment that repairs damaged and broken bonds in your hair. It differs from other conditioning products as the benefits are far more permanent - the primary ingredient, bis-aminopropyl diglycol dimaleate, actually rebuilds the disulfide bonds in your hair.
Olaplex is perfect for bleached, coloured or heat-damaged hair, as it works to restore the strength and durability of fragile strands. Originally, Olaplex was a three step process, consisting of two in-salon steps and one at-home step to follow up. They’ve since added further complimentary products to their range, including a shampoo, conditioner and creme, all to be applied at home.
We’ll break down the in-salon steps, to give you a bit more insight into how Olaplex works:
Step 1 ~ The first step is a Bond Multiplier, which kicks off the rebuilding process. This step is applied professionally in the salon - and if you’re getting colour done, the Bond Multiplier can be added to the colour itself and applied as your hair is put into foils.
Step 2 ~ Secondly, the Bond Perfector is applied once the colour is rinsed out. This second step is left in to deep condition for around 20 minutes, in order to achieve the glossiest results.
Step 3 ~ Finally, the Hair Perfector is used at home as a follow up treatment, applied generously before you wash your hair.
The many benefits of Olaplex
Compared to the effects of normal conditioners, Olaplex rebuilds your hair from it’s very foundations, strengthening it from the core. It’s an easy and effective way to get a high quality salon-level treatment you can continue at home, with permanent and rewarding results.
The cutting edge treatment can help resolve any past hair mistakes, and damage from over-colouring or heating. This leaves you free to experiment with playful colours and styles for your hair, without the worry of permanent damage or a frizzy texture.
